SAQA Oregon Retreat

Who: SAQA Oregon members from all over Oregon and those with Oregon as their second region are invited. Space is limited.

What: Second Biennial retreat. That’s every other year in years we do not have a regional conference.  Get to know your fellow members and spend some productive time creating and learning from each other. 

Where: The Oregon Garden Resort and Spa - With a lovely, rustic decor and a wealth of modern conveniences, the Oregon Garden Resort provides unique accommodations in Northern Oregon's picturesque Willamette Valley. Overlooking the 80-acre Oregon Garden, our inviting hotel in Silverton, Oregon, offers spacious rooms, a full-service spa, and uniquely engaging venues. Enjoy fresh, Northwest-inspired foods and fine wines at the Garden View Restaurant, along with live music and happy hour specials each evening in the Fireside Lounge. With free Wi-Fi, a complimentary breakfast, and sweeping views, the hotel is your perfect tranquil getaway. Your room key will get you into the garden any time you feel like taking a break.

The Oregon Garden, 879 W. Main St., Silverton, OR 97381, is an 80-acre botanical garden, featuring more than 20 specialty gardens showcasing the diverse botanical beauty that can be found in the Willamette Valley and throughout the Pacific Northwest. The garden has educational specialty gardens for everyone, from the Sensory Garden and Rose Garden to the Children’s Garden and Pet-Friendly Garden, or the Silverton Market Garden and Amazing Water Garden. They also offer a complimentary narrated tram tour Friday through Sunday starting April 1st – October, and are pet-friendly. The Oregon Garden is overseen by The Oregon Garden Foundation Board of Directors, which is composed of volunteers and is recognized as a 501 (c)(3) public charity. The Oregon Garden Foundation is dedicated to the promotion and growth of The Oregon Garden. 


When: October 3-5, 2022, (Monday through Wednesday) Set up is Monday at 9:00 am when we have full use of the Orchid Room. Check-in is 3:00 PM. Check-out is 10:00 AM on Wednesday, but we have the room until 4:00 PM that day.


What to Bring: Sewing machine, free-standing design wall, sewing supplies, anything you need to be creative. Irons and ironing boards will be provided.


How Much: $460 – single occupancy

$330 – double occupancy

Includes your guest room; your own table for sewing/working; coffee and tea; and a full lunch on Tuesday.


Your Guest Room Includes: 2 nights lodging, breakfast Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Each room is equipped with 2 queen beds, a refrigerator and a microwave.

In the Sewing Room: In addition to an 8-foot table for each participant and shared irons, there is limited space for a design wall. It must be self-supporting. We cannot put holes in the walls.  You are responsible for your own lunches and dinners other than the Tuesday Lunch.


Registration: Registration closes midnight on September 15, 2022. Once you have registered you will be directed to the SAQA website for payment options. A hold will be placed on your registration until payment has been received. 


Roommate: Be sure you indicate your roommate, if you do not have a roommate, one will be assigned.


Cancellation Policy: All canceled reservations will have the following charges:

Half your monies back if canceled by august 31, 2022. no monies refunded from September 1st on. However, if you find a replacement, or if we have a waiting list, we’ll work with you to prevent a loss on your part.
